How and why would Quape offer Unmetered Data Transfer?

Even though local bandwidth is costly, we felt that we should not have to limit your website’s growth with data transfer limits (also described as metered transfer). For plans with metered data transfer, your website will be instantly suspended when you exceed your data transfer limit, and your website be replaced with a page saying, “This account has exceeded its data transfer limit”. Once that occurs, your website will definitely be unavailable and any emails will be rejected as well. However, with Quape, you will never experience such a page.

In a shared hosting environment, resources such as bandwidth, are shared with all users residing on a particular server. To avoid abuse, we have emplaced a fair use policy. For more information on our policy, refer to our terms of service.

For constant high traffic users above 200GB data transfer monthly, we strongly recommend an upgrade to a VPS or dedicated server account with committed bandwidth to ensure optimum resources for your website.

A typical SME website will rarely exceed 5GB worth of data transfer a month, hence bandwidth is not much of an issue for most people. Traffic intensive websites generally do not wish to stay in a shared web hosting environment as they need more committed resources to serve their websites better.

In summary, website availability is extremely important. The last thing  you would want to see is a big red notice which informs you that your data transfer limits have exceeded. Also, it tells you that all your website services including your email service is unavailable. With our unmetered data transfer plans, we ensure that this does not happen to your website.
