How can I create a product and sell it online ? This article will guide you to create and add products in your VirtueMart. Do follow the instructions below.
Step 1: Login to Joomla Admin panel.
Step 2: There are two methods to enter into the Product page. Firstly, click on Components at the top admin panel, once a drop down menu appears, click VirtueMart > Products. If not you can choose to click on VirtueMart at the top admin panel. After the drop down menu appears, click Products.
Step 3: You will arrive at the Products page. Click on +New to create and add a new product.
Step 4: On the Product Information tab, there are several important fields to be completed. They are:
- - Product Name
- - Product Stock Keeping Unit (SKU) if applicable
- - Manufacturer
- - Product Categories
- - Published - Select the check box for the product to be seen in your VirtueMart site.
- - On Featured - Select the check box for the product to be shown on the featured section of your site.
- - Product Price
Step 5: To enter descriptions, click on the Product Description tab. This will allow your customers to understand your product better after reading the description or viewing the images you upload on the descriptions.
Step 6: Click on the Product Status tab. You can manage the number of products in stock, the date available, and also sending an email to customer about the product.
Step 7: Click on the Product Dimensions and Weight tab. This tab lets you set Product Length, Product Width, Product Height, Product Weight, Product Packaging, and Units in Box.
Step 8: Next, we will upload a image for the product. Click on the Product Image tab. Under the Upload File section, select the Upload checkbox. Then, click on Browse to select a image from your local computer, and click Open. Your image has successfully been uploaded.
Step 9: Once you have finalized all your product details, there are two ways to save your product. Select Save, your changes will be saved and you will remain on this page. Select Save & Close, your changes will be saved and it closes this page. You will be directed to the Product list page. A display message will be shown to indicate that your product is successfully saved.
Now, you have successfully added a product in VirtueMart.
